Founded in 2014, Chairbears Day Nursery was built on a strong foundation of family values, love for children and a commitment to exceptional early years education. Rooted in the heart of Deptford, our nursery carries forward the legacy of Anne and Martyn who once ran the much loved Antiques Warehouse, which was home to the iconic ´Giant´s Chair´, a landmark that brought joy to families for decades, and which continues to inspire our name and ethos today - our nursery carries forward a legacy of warmth, community and care, while providing a modern, child-centred approach to learning.
Our ethos is simple, yet powerful: every child is unique, every child deserves to thrive. We believe in creating a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment where curiosity is encouraged, play is purposeful, and children are supported to grow in confidence, independence and kindness.

Chairbears is led by Ellie (Provider) and Maria (Nursery Manager), who have worked alongside each other since 2014 with passion and purpose. Together, they bring vision, experience, and a deep commitment to supporting both families and the team. Their partnership sets the tone for our ethos - where love, trust and curiosity shape every child’s journey.
