September always feels like a fresh start in nursery life. After the whirlwind of summer, the children who moved rooms and made big transitions are now settled and shining in their new spaces. Our term-time team is back too (cue lots of happy reunions!) and it’s been so lovely to see how much the children have grown and changed over the break.
And of course… September also means welcoming brand-new families.
First-Day Quirks & Potty Training Tales
Every new child brings their own personality, stories, and quirks — and sometimes their own potty training adventures. We’ve already collected a few “nursery classics” (the kind you only share with a knowing laugh!).
The best part? Our existing children have been absolute stars, confidently introducing themselves to new friends. It’s heart-melting to see such little ones already leading the way in making others feel welcome.
What Makes Us,
Us
We’re often told our nursery feels like a second home. Parents mention again and again how kind and nurturing the team is, and how happy everyone seems to work together. That warmth is something we’re proud of, and it’s exactly what helps children settle so quickly.
This week has also been emotional, as some of our “big children” have headed off to school. There’s been a lot of pride, a few tears (ours and theirs!), and plenty of good luck hugs. Seeing them ready for the next step reminds us just how important these early years are.
The September Survival Kit (for staff only!)
If September came with its own starter pack, here’s what we’d include:
Lots of water (all that singing is thirsty work 🎶)
Stain remover (because, well… life with toddlers)
Coffee (no explanation needed)
No more suncream (the rain has arrived, and our bottles can finally retire)
Best Enrolment Question of the Month
We’ve had plenty of questions from new families, but the winner so far has to be:
“Can they sleep overnight?”
(Answer: As much as we adore your little ones, we do actually close at the end of the day!)
A Big, Warm Welcome
If our nursery had a giant welcome sign, it would probably read:
“Welcome to the family — shoes off, smiles on, and don’t worry… we’ve seen it all before.”
So here’s to a new term full of firsts, friendships, and plenty of laughter. We’re so excited to share it with both our new and returning families.
